Sometimes the best way to prepare for an exam is to take your mind off of it entirely. Think about it this way - the entire week (or more) leading up to the exam has been spent pouring over lecture notes and powerpoints. You wake up in the morning, go to the library, and likely don’t return until after dark. This is mentally exhausting, and so the best medicine is to relax. Give yourself a break and focus on something mindless and fun that makes you smile. Seriously, you should try it! Here are a few options to get you started.

1. Watch your favourite movie (preferably a sing-along)

Singing releases endorphins which helps to reduce stress.

2. Play a sport outdoors

Fresh air + adrenaline rush = a good combination.

3. Talk to your best friend

Ask them lots of questions about their life to distract you from the thought of studying.

4. Have a spa evening:

5. Treat yourself!

Nutella, Oreos, Pop-Tarts, you name it! Allow yourself an evening of unabashed junk food-eating.

6. Play with puppies!
